MoneySquare Privacy Policy

MoneySquare is designed to help users track shared expenses, debts, receipts, reminders, and payment requests.
Information We Collect
MoneySquare may store information you enter into the app, including:
- Names of people or contacts added to debts
- Debt titles, amounts, categories, due dates, and payment status
- PayPal handles you choose to save
- Receipt images you attach
- App settings such as currency, language, theme, reminders, and backup preferences
If you choose to pick a contact from your device, MoneySquare may access your contacts only for that action. The app does not upload your contact list.
If you attach receipt images, MoneySquare accesses the selected image only so it can be displayed and stored with the related debt.
How Information Is Used
Your information is used to:
- Display and manage debts and balances
- Group balances by person
- Generate payment request text
- Create PayPal payment request links
- Show reminders and activity history
- Export or import app backups
- Improve the local app experience
Data Storage
MoneySquare stores app data locally on your device. If you export a backup, you control where that backup is saved or shared.
Third-Party Services
MoneySquare may use:
- PayPal links when you choose to create or open a PayPal payment request
- Google AdMob to display banner advertisements
- Android system services for notifications, contacts, image picking, and biometric/device authentication
Third-party services may process data according to their own privacy policies.
Data Sharing
MoneySquare does not sell your personal data.
The app only shares information when you choose to use a sharing feature, such as exporting a backup or sharing a payment request.
Permissions
MoneySquare may request permissions for:
- Contacts, to pick a person for a debt
- Photos or media, to attach receipt images
- Notifications, to show reminders
- Internet/network access, for ads and external payment links
- Biometric/device authentication, if privacy lock features are enabled
Children’s Privacy
MoneySquare is not intended for children under 13.
Your Choices
You can edit or delete app data inside the app. You can also remove local app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage through your device settings.
